Years ago, the area that is now Brooklyn Center was the center of trade for the bustling township of Brooklyn. Many regional commuters still stop in Brooklyn Center to buy groceries or conduct business, but people who live here also treasure area parks and green spaces. The city has 522 acres of parks and nature areas where you can play on playgrounds, hike around a lake, or rollerblade down a trail.
On June 26-28, residents also will enjoy a festival celebrating one of Brooklyn Center's most famous residents, Earle Brown, who founded the Minnesota State Highway Patrol.
During Earle Brown Days, you can catch a parade, visit a petting zoo, or play a round of golf. For a complete list of activities, visit the city website.
